Hands of Faith
A part of the
Interfaith Hospitality Network, "Hands of Faith" is a group of more than
twenty faith communities that house and feed homeless families in the
Beloit area. Twelve churches rotate as "host" sites, where our
families are housed and fed each night. Members of other
congregations assist with meal preparation, visit with our guests, and
drive families to our Day Center on Bluff Street. Our next turn
hosting families will be March 30 - April 6. Please plan on joining us
and helping.
Olde Rectory
Sales and Service
This group of volunteers provides a service to the community as they run
house and estate sales in the Greater Beloit Area. The home owner
or the estate receive 2/3 of the gross proceeds from the sale, Olde
Rectory Sales receives 1/3. Anyone interested in volunteering to
help (there is much preparation that goes on before a sale) should
contact Shirley Brunton at 362-4463, or Kathy Hudson at 362-0630.
Caritas
St. Paul's
is a long time member of Caritas, an ecumenical ministry in the
Stateline area that provides food and clothing to those in need.
Several members of the parish either volunteer at Caritas or serve on
its board. The loose plate offering the first Sunday of each month
is given to Caritas, and the parish actively supports the Thanksgiving
food basket fundraising each year. Please give generously to the
Thanksgiving basket drive this year.
Meals on
Wheels
The Meals on Wheels program provides nutritious meals to the homebound,
elderly, ill and disabled in the Greater Beloit area, as it has done for
the past 32 years. Members of the parish have served with the
program since it began in 1971. For many years, St. Paul's has
staffed one route for one week out of every month, beginning on the
third Sunday of the month. Serving as a driver/delivery person is
a wonderful way to get involved in a very rewarding ministry.
